Advocating for Veterans

I was humbled to be selected as the commencement speaker at NC State’s College of Education Commencement ceremony when I received my Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education. I shared about my background and highlighted the need for collaboration among counselors and therapists to care for our millions of combat veterans who are overrepresented in the homeless population and whose suicide rate is over twice the civilian suicide rate.
