Hi, I'm Greg Cheney.

I’ve been on active-duty in the military working with soldiers and their families for over 19 years. The most meaningful aspect of working with service members is being invited into the sacred moments of their greatest joys and deepest tragedies. These sacred moments are entrusted to few yet provide such a clear understanding of their deep courage and great sacrifice in their service to our Nation. The opportunity to accompany service members and their families in their journey towards their goals for health and well-being is the most meaningful part of what I do. I am beyond humbled and grateful.

Service members and first responders are just like you. They don’t want to be labeled, automatically placed into a category, or given a knee jerk diagnosis. They are searching for a therapist who is authentic and trustworthy that will be genuinely interested and curious about their experience. They value someone who is committed to journeying with them as they see the need to search for a new normal since their service seems to be preventing them from returning to the normal they once knew.

My journey on how to most effectively come alongside our heroes in their search for a new normal led me to Emotionally Focused Therapy with its foundation in attachment theory and emphasis on an experiential, person centered, and systemic approach.
